Motor Vehicle Information
The Motor Vehicle Department, County License and Registration office, suggests newcomers register their motor vehicle as soon as they arrive into town. You must register your vehicle before you apply for a Florida Driver’s License. You only have 10 days to register your vehicle after you enroll your children in school, get a job, register to vote or file for the Homestead Exemption. Registration, tag, decal and title transfer costs approximately $185, and you will need to show a Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance.

You will need to bring your current driver’s license, car registration and Social Security card to the Driver’s License office to be issued a Florida license. Those with a valid license need only take a vision test. The cost is $20 for six years. For further information, call the County License and Registration office at (386) 423-3323. For a driver’s license book call the Driver’s License office at (386) 424-2010.
