"Joining the Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce was one of the best decisions we made when starting our new business. They are constantly hosting networking events where we were able to mingle with other business owners in our area, helping grow our business quickly. You can get a true sense of community by simply being an active member of the SEV Chamber and we highly recommend any business owner in the area to join." East Coast Current

"When I opened my Allstate Agency doors almost 11 years ago, one of the first things I did was to go and pay my membership to the Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce. I was a scratch agent, which means I started with one policy, my own! I knew the importance of becoming an active member of the community, but didn’t know exactly how to start. I grew up in Volusia County, but had moved away for college and lived in Orlando for 10 years prior to coming back home. So I went to my first business after hours in December of 2005 after my agency doors opened to try to get to know some other small business owners, their staff and meet people. I was also visited by Chamber staff shortly after becoming a member and they gave me information on how to get involved with committees within the Chamber. I was called by another member and asked to come to an Ambassador’s lunch and see what their committee had to offer. Instantly I knew I had found a wonderful group of people that welcomes and promotes local businesses. I am still a Chamber Ambassador today!
I went on to chair other committees in the Chamber and became very active in our community. I have been on the SEV Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 8 years and was the President in 2012. The chamber is a voice of the business community and they work so hard to keep our business community healthy with economic development, legislative work and education for the development of the small business owner and their staff.
More than all of that, the chamber is a wonderful place to meet people and get involved to help make your community great! With the SEV Chamber of Commerce and the support we have given each other over the years, my business is a success. I am a huge believer in their mission!"Melanie Emanuel

"The Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce has provided exposure and customers for Maserati Alfa Romeo of Daytona.
As a member, you can participate in the countless events, leads groups and educational seminars, to help grow your business and as a professional as well. A new or old member needs to keep in mind, that you will only get out of the chamber what you put in to it…so GET INVOLVED! Once you do, you and your business will reap the rewards. We have!"

“I had been away from this community for many years. So when I was given the chance to come back to Southeast Volusia to start a career, I was uncertain about where to go and who to meet. This Chamber not only helped me get involved again with this community, it also helped me make many new friends. With my Leads Group, we spent just as much time talking about our personal lives as our professional ones. The Economic Development Committee allowed me to have a say in this area’s direction while meeting some of its brightest leaders. And the Hob Nob Committee gave me the opportunity to give back to the community by making it more informed about important issues. Because of this Chamber I have tried new restaurants, visited art festivals, raised money for various charities and helped my business along the way. Joining it has easily been one of the best decisions I have made since coming back.” Zach Bass

Testimonial for Dr. Orest Krajnyk of Precision Eye Institute, Edgewater, FL
How do you say ‘Thank You’ to someone for saving your life? They are very small words with a huge meaning. During a routine eye exam Dr. Krajnyk discovered a small piece of plaque in my left eye. He asked if I had a cardiologist and then suggested I have a carotid ultrasound and echo cardiogram done. This suggestion was not what I ever expected to hear at an Eye Appointment. Being a diligent patient and former medical worker, I had both exams within a few days, both exam results were ‘normal’. I visited my cardiologist, Dr. Surya Rao, who ordered a nuclear stress test which then led to a cardiac catheterization and my first ambulance ride. My catheterization test discovered three major blockages which were repaired the next day. I didn’t have time to be scared. By 8:30 PM, Saturday, August 5, I had a completely healthy heart. I’m doing great and will be able to travel to Scotland September 13th!
I want to emphasize the importance of a good eye exam, and please never say, “what does he know, he is only an eye doctor”. Please pay attention; he/she has been trained to think beyond your eyes.
Thank you from the bottom of my ‘Healthy Heart’
